Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will pay a working visit to Belgium, where he will hold a series of important international meetings with European leaders, NATO officials, and representatives of EU institutions.

During the visit, Zelenskyy will hold talks with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever and will also have an audience with King Philippe I of Belgium.

A separate series of meetings is scheduled to address defense support for Ukraine. In particular, the president, together with Ukraine’s defense minister, will hold talks with the NATO Secretary General and the defense ministers of the United Kingdom and Germany.

In Brussels, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will participate in a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format, where further military assistance to Ukraine will be discussed.

The President will also hold talks with EU leaders, including European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Separately, a series of bilateral meetings with European leaders is scheduled, as well as participation in a European Council meeting, where issues related to support for Ukraine and European security will be discussed.

The main topics of the talks in Brussels will be:

  • increasing military aid to Ukraine
  • coordination with NATO
  • European security
  • further support for Ukraine in the war against Russia

This was announced by Presidential Press Secretary Serhiy Nikiforov.

At the next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format, the main focus will be on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, supplying Patriot systems, and missiles for intercepting ballistic targets.

Earlier, on June 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the key outcome of the G7 leaders’ summit in France was an agreement to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems. According to him, this decision is one of the most important results of international negotiations for Kyiv.
