In Ghana, the winners of the national “Best Farmer 2026” and “Best Poultry Farmer 2026” categories will receive sponsored seven-day trips to Italy. The programme, as part of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day, was announced by the country’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture together with Mehak Company Limited and Covenant Farms, MyJoyOnline reports.
Programme for the best farmer
Mehak Company Limited will fund a seven-day educational and leisure trip to Italy for the winner of the nationwide category and his or her spouse or partner. The programme includes exposure to modern European agricultural technologies, sustainable value chains in the agricultural sector, and innovations in product processing.
The ministry noted that the practical experience gained could contribute to the development of agriculture in Ghana. The initiative is also intended to acquaint farmers who receive national awards with modern production technologies, processing innovations, and smart farming practices.
