The evolution of Bitcoin’s logo: from the first design to the iconic symbol
Sixteen years ago, Satoshi Nakamoto unveiled the first Bitcoin logo — a golden coin featuring the letters “B” and “C.” This initial design marked the beginning of the cryptocurrency’s visual identity as it gained worldwide recognition.
During discussions on the BitcoinTalk forum, users suggested adding the letter “T,” which led to the creation of the ticker BTC, though the “T” never appeared on the logo itself. Later, the “C” was removed, and the “B” was given two vertical strokes. The final orange Bitcoin symbol recognized globally today was designed by an anonymous forum user.
These changes helped establish Bitcoin’s logo as a unique and recognizable emblem, closely associated with the rise of digital finance. It is expected that this logo will continue to serve as a key visual symbol for the crypto industry.
