Malkovich, a St. Petersburg lawmaker close to Prigozhin, is going to fight against Ukraine
Alexander Malkevich, a member of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly and a former associate of Yevgeny Prigozhin, intends to go to war against Ukraine.
This is being reported by Russian Telegram channels.
The chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Alexander Belsky, announced that Malkevich plans to go to war. According to him, deputies will soon consider Malkevich’s request to resign early.
Belsky called Malkevich’s decision a “strong, courageous, and, in Sasha’s case, natural” step.
From January 2021 to September 2023, Alexander Malkevich served as general director of the City Agency for Television and Radio Broadcasting. This organization is funded by the St. Petersburg budget and is the founder of the “St. Petersburg” TV channel.
In the fall of 2025, news emerged of a criminal case involving the embezzlement of funds from the City Agency for Television and Radio Broadcasting. In total, five people are involved in the case, including Malkevich. The deputy was the only one against whom the court imposed a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions. The other suspects were arrested or placed under house arrest. Malkevich denies the charges.
Prigozhin did not expect to be eliminated in such an open manner.
Putin stated that Prigozhin could have blown himself up.
Prigozhin was planning to carry out another coup d'état.
