Rubio called the Armed Forces of Ukraine the most powerful army in Europe

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that, thanks to its unique combat experience and Western assistance, the Ukrainian army has become the strongest on the continent. 

In an interview with Fox News, the text of which is provided by the State Department, he emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have developed effective tactics for hybrid asymmetric warfare, which allow them to inflict massive losses on the enemy. According to Rubio, Russia loses between 15,000 and 20,000 soldiers killed each month, which is five times higher than Ukrainian casualties. 

The official noted Ukraine’s impressive technological achievements in developing new equipment and combat methods. At the same time, he noted that the cost of this war is extremely high, and it will take more than two decades for the country to fully recover. Rubio also emphasized that the U.S. administration is ready to facilitate a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in order to stop the widespread bloodshed.

The Secretary of State added that despite Russia’s significant economic losses and human casualties, momentum in the peace talks has slowed for a number of reasons. He confirmed the President’s team’s readiness to actively participate in mediation to achieve a lasting peace. The U.S. plans to continue supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities while seeking avenues for a political settlement.
