Mstislav Banik, an officer and developer, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Mstislav Banik as Deputy Minister of Defense, entrusting him with the key task of reforming the military supply system.
The official, known for the successful launch and development of the “Diya” digital service, will now be responsible for the transparency and efficiency of defense procurement.
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has set an ambitious goal for the new deputy: to transform Ukrainian military procurement into the most open and effective system in the world.
Banik has significant experience in developing government IT products, as well as direct combat experience.
“At the Ministry of Digital Transformation, he was responsible for the launch and development of ‘Diya.’ At the Ministry of Defense, he led the development of ‘Army+’ and ‘Reserve+.’ He has combat experience: he voluntarily joined the military and rose through the ranks from soldier to officer,” Minister Fedorov noted.
Mstislav Banik also established FPV drone units and participated in the Kursk operation as part of the CODE 9.2 unit.
At the same time, the government appointed Yuriy Myronenko to the position of Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense.
His main task will be to provide an objective assessment of the state of affairs in the units and analyze how management decisions are implemented in practice.
Myronenk previously served as Deputy Minister of Defense and was involved in the implementation of the Delta system, the launch of private air defense, and the training of artificial intelligence models.
The focus of his new role will be on obtaining a realistic picture from the front lines to enable rapid adjustments to defense policies.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense has clarified which military personnel are required to file a declaration.
The Ministry of Defense has also digitized the logistics of electronic warfare equipment to speed up deliveries to the front lines.
