BMW and Kith will unveil the X5 E53 with the M5's V10 engine and a manual transmission
BMW, in collaboration with the New York-based clothing brand Kith, will unveil two special X5 crossovers at Monterey Car Week. The main highlight will be a 2000 first-generation E53 BMW X5, which has been fitted with a 5.0-liter S85 V10 engine from the E60-generation BMW M5 and a six-speed manual transmission.
According to Motor1, this V10 produced 500 horsepower in the M5 sedan. The modified X5 retains its original all-wheel-drive system. Kith founder Ronnie Fieg announced on Instagram that the car has undergone a complete restoration. According to the publication, the development of the modified X5 took over a year.

The second exhibit will be a 2027 BMW X5 in the exclusive Frozen Titanium Silver color. It was inspired by the Titanium Silver Metallic shade on Ronnie Feig’s restored E53 X5. BMW will not offer this color for the standard production X5.
The manufacturer has not yet revealed the technical specifications of the new X5. Motor1 notes that this is a Neue Klasse model. Both cars will be unveiled to the public for the first time during Monterey Car Week. It is currently unknown whether BMW plans to mass-produce the Kith X5, although previous joint projects between BMW and Kith have been limited editions.
