Mullen Five electric crossover concept put up for sale for $8,000
The Mullen Five electric crossover concept, which never reached mass production, has been listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace for $8,000. As InsideEVs reports, this may be the only example of such a concept available for purchase.
The listing includes a video showing the vehicle in motion. However, the vehicle's suitability for public roads has not been confirmed. The publication notes that the car may be a rolling mock-up created for display at auto shows.
Batteries and equipment
At present, the Mullen Five can reach speeds of up to 15 mph. It has five 12-volt lead-acid batteries connected in series instead of a full-fledged electric powertrain.

The listing also states that the concept is equipped with a Brembo brake kit allegedly intended for the BMW M2, coilover suspension, and 23-inch wheels. InsideEVs notes that the origin of the brake kit cannot be reliably confirmed from the Facebook photos. The vehicle has a full interior, which the publication assessed as close to the production version.
Project history
U.S. startup Mullen planned to release the Five in 2024 as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y, and later introduce a faster Mullen Five RS version. The project was initially called MX-05, but was later renamed Five.
According to InsideEVs, the company went public in 2020 and acquired a production facility in Mississippi, but did not begin manufacturing vehicles there. In 2022, shareholders filed a lawsuit, claiming that the company had exaggerated information about its partnerships and production capabilities; Mullen agreed to a settlement of $7.25 million. The company later acquired a controlling stake in Bollinger Motors, changed its name to Bollinger Innovations, shut down Bollinger Motors in 2025, and entered receivership in 2026, the publication notes.
