Updated Hyundai Creta with flagship N Line version launched in South Africa
Hyundai has launched the updated second-generation Creta compact crossover in South Africa in Premium and N Line versions, TimesLIVE reports. The flagship N Line variant features a more powerful turbocharged engine, an expanded suite of driver-assistance systems and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The second-generation Creta, manufactured in Indonesia, was first introduced in 2020. In 2025, the model received a significant design update, including a redesigned front end and continuous LED light bars at the front and rear. The interior also received updated styling and technology, as well as more soft-touch materials.
Premium engine and equipment
The entry-level Creta Premium is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 84 kW and 144 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission. Hyundai claims fuel consumption of 6.3 liters per 100 km but does not provide performance figures.
The Premium version has 17-inch wheels, power-folding exterior mirrors, USB charging ports, automatic headlight control, a 4.2-inch instrument-cluster display, keyless entry and engine start. It also includes a multimedia system with a touchscreen, Bluetooth, voice control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Premium safety package includes front, thorax and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, Isofix anchors, front parking sensors, a rear-view camera and a tire-pressure monitoring system.
Flagship N Line
The Hyundai Creta N Line receives a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 117 kW and 253 Nm of torque, along with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The variant is distinguished by 18-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights and daytime running lights, a satin-black grille, a panoramic roof and roof rails.
The N Line interior features leather upholstery, a wireless charger, a surround-view camera and two 10.25-inch displays under a shared glass panel. The version also has a driver-fatigue monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, a collision-avoidance system and rear parking sensors.
The Creta Premium is priced at 434,900 rand in South Africa, which Hyundai says is 44,000 rand less than the previous model. The Creta N Line costs 569,900 rand. Both versions come with a seven-year or 200,000-km warranty, a four-year service plan for 60,000 km and a seven-year roadside-assistance program valid up to 150,000 km.
