Toyota may revive Celica and MR2 in the GR lineup — Motor1
Toyota plans to expand its Gazoo Racing sports lineup with more affordable models positioned below the new GR GT supercar. According to Motor1, British publication Autocar reported on the possible return of the Celica and MR2 models.
GR GT as Gazoo Racing flagship
The new mid-engined GR GT with a V8 engine is intended to establish a new positioning for Gazoo Racing as a separate sports brand. The road version of the model and its track variant will use GR badges instead of Toyota logos.
Toyota Senior Vice President of Automotive Operations Andrew Gilleland told The Drive that the GR GT demonstrates the company's capabilities under less stringent financial constraints. Toyota also acknowledges that producing such a supercar has no convincing financial justification.

Possible engine for the MR2 and Celica
According to Autocar, the new MR2 may receive a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder G20E engine positioned behind the seats. The publication claims that engineers are targeting output of more than 400 hp in road cars, while motorsport versions could potentially develop more than 600 hp.
Toyota is already testing the new 2.0-liter turbo engine. The GR Yaris M concept, according to Motor1's assessment, confirms the development of such a power unit, which could potentially replace the 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine in the GR Yaris and GR Corolla, where it produces 300 hp.
A front-mounted version of the same four-cylinder engine may be planned for the Celica. Toyota had also previously promised to bring back the Supra. Motor1 suggests that the next generations of the Yaris and Corolla may receive GR versions, while the GR86 could remain in the brand's sports lineup.
