Toyota tops brands ranking by chance of reaching 400,000 km — Motor1
An iSeeCars study identified automotive brands whose models most often have a chance of covering 250,000 miles — approximately 402,000 km. As reported by Motor1, Toyota models have a 19.7% probability of reaching this mileage, while the industry average is 5.4%.
Ranking table data
In the table published by Motor1, Toyota is followed by Honda with 13.3%, GMC with 5.8%, and Mazda with 5.3%. The top 10 also includes Ram at 4.2%, Ford at 4.1%, Chevrolet at 3.6%, Nissan at 3.4%, Subaru at 2.8%, and Dodge at 1.7%.
iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer noted that reaching 250,000 miles is an exceptionally high figure for any vehicle. Separately, the Motor1 article names Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and Acura among the four brands with the highest results. Lexus has a probability of 14.4%, while Acura stands at 9.5%.

Brands with lower figures
In Motor1's table, Volkswagen has a figure of 1.5%, Jeep 1.2%, Kia, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai 0.8% each, Chrysler 0.7%, Fiat 0.2%, and Mini 0%. Among premium brands, the article also lists BMW and Audi at 0.5% each, Mercedes-Benz at 2.6%, Porsche at 0.3%, and Land Rover at 0.4%.
Brauer cautioned that lower results for luxury cars may be related to their owners driving fewer miles. According to him, Porsche's low figure is more likely to reflect less intensive use rather than insufficient quality or durability of the vehicles.
