Taxis in Finland to receive green license plates from 2027
In Finland, cars used as taxis will have green license plates from 2027. The background of the registration plates will be green, while the characters on them will be black.

As YLE News reports, the Finnish government on Thursday adopted a decree on changing license plates for vehicles operating in taxi transport.
The new requirements will apply to all cars involved in taxi transportation. They will also concern vehicles that passengers order through platform services.

Transition timeline
The decree is to enter into force on January 1, 2027. A six-month transition period is предусмотрено for switching to the new license plates.
Green license plates will become mandatory for taxis from July 1, 2027. In addition, taxis must also have a taxi roof light.
