In the US, InsideEVs compared Toyota bZ, C-HR and bZ Woodland electric vehicles
In the United States, InsideEVs compared three Toyota electric vehicles: the bZ crossover, the compact C-HR and the larger bZ Woodland. The test author called the all-wheel-drive Toyota bZ in the XLE trim the best-value choice, while the bZ Woodland received the highest rating for suspension comfort and interior space.
The starting price of the Toyota bZ in the United States is $36,495 including delivery, the C-HR costs $38,695, and the bZ Woodland costs $46,975. All three models are built on the e-TNGA platform and manufactured in Japan. They have a 74.7-kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery, except for the base bZ, which is also available with a 57.7-kWh battery.
Range and charging
According to EPA estimates, the Toyota bZ with the large battery can travel up to 314 miles on a single charge, the C-HR up to 287 miles, and the bZ Woodland up to 280 miles. The Woodland version with all-terrain tires has a range of 260 miles. The base bZ with the smaller battery is rated for 236 miles.
Toyota says that each of the three models charges from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. During the test, the C-HR charged from 15% to 80% in 26 minutes at an Ionna charging station, while the bZ Woodland charged from 12% to 80% in 28 minutes. The vehicles also support Plug & Charge on some charging networks through the Toyota app.

Power and practicality
The C-HR and all-wheel-drive bZ each produce 338 hp, while the bZ Woodland produces 375 hp. The compact C-HR comes standard with all-wheel drive and, according to Toyota, accelerates to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. The bZ is available in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, with power ranging from 165 to 338 hp.
The bZ Woodland has the most cargo space, with 33.8 cubic feet behind the second row of seats. The bZ has 27.7 cubic feet, while the C-HR has 25.3 cubic feet. The bZ Woodland has 8.4 inches of ground clearance, compared with 8.1 inches for the bZ and 8.0 inches for the C-HR. The Woodland is equipped with Snow, Dirt and Mud modes, while the all-wheel-drive bZ has X-Mode with the same modes.
Shared interior features
All three models are equipped with a 14-inch infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster and a rotary gear selector. At the same time, the author noted the slow operation of the infotainment system and the placement of the digital instrument cluster, which may be obscured for some drivers by the upper part of the steering wheel. These electric vehicles use the previous generation of Toyota software and do not have the new Arene platform.
