In the Kyiv region, a police officer struck a pedestrian; the victim was hospitalized
A traffic accident involving a police officer occurred in the village of Nemishaieve in the Kyiv region, in which a 20-year-old woman was injured.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region.
According to preliminary information, a police officer from one of the Bucha police stations, while off duty, was driving his own Toyota Camry around 11:30 p.m. He struck a woman who was crossing the road at an unregulated crosswalk.
“According to the results of a breathalyzer test using a Drager device, the officer was sober,” the police noted.
As a result of the accident, the victim sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
The territorial office of the State Bureau of Investigation is conducting a pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings. Concurrently, the Main Department of the National Police in the Kyiv region is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
The day before, a traffic accident involving a minibus and a bus occurred on Danyla Shcherbakivsky Street in Kyiv.
As a reminder, eight people were injured in a traffic accident in the Chernihiv region.
Also, in the Rivne region, road workers were charged in connection with a traffic accident that left three people dead.
