The nighttime Russian attack on Kyiv caused destruction at more than 14 locations — photos and videos
As a result of strikes with ballistic missiles and drones during the night of April 16, damage was recorded to 17 multi-story buildings and 10 private houses in the capital.
This was reported by KCSA spokesperson Kateryna Pop during a telethon broadcast. The Podil and Obolon districts were hit the hardest, where warehouses and residential buildings caught fire.
According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, 60 people were injured, including four children, and 30 victims are currently hospitalized. In the Podil district, rescue operations have already been completed, and all fires have been extinguished. In addition to residential buildings, cars and warehouse facilities over a large area were also damaged as a result of the attack.
The military administration thanked the air defense forces for repelling the attack, which helped prevent even greater damage to the city. Emergency services, police, and volunteers continue to work at the impact sites. There are fatalities and numerous injuries among civilians as a result of Russian actions.
Following the nighttime attack, the number of injured in Kyiv has risen to 62, and four people were killed.
In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers discovered the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K missile. A controlled detonation of the munition is planned at the site.
On the night of April 15, in Dnipro and the surrounding region, three people were injured as a result of Russian drone strikes, and destruction of civilian infrastructure was recorded.
