In Kyiv, following the Russian attack on the night of August 8, minor oil contamination was again detected in Lake Kyrylivske and the Syrets Stream.
According to city authorities, the situation was complicated by heavy rainfall and a sharp rise in water levels, which damaged all the containment booms used to contain the pollution.
The municipal enterprise “Pleso” reported that it has already restored the containment system to prevent the further spread of petroleum products.
In addition, the company’s specialists collected water samples for laboratory testing. The results will be used for further monitoring of the condition of Lake Kyrylivske and the Syrets Stream.
