After the incident involving the LGBTQ+ flag in Kyiv, a student lost her job

In Kyiv, a student who was caught on video during the “KyivPride” march trampling on LGBTQ+ symbols was fired from her job at a beauty salon. The incident quickly went viral on social media and prompted a public response from her employer. The company announced that it had terminated her employment.

In Kyiv, student Yuliana Kaznodiy lost her job at the G×Kyiv beauty bar following an incident that occurred during the “KyivPride” march, where she was caught on video stepping on the LGBTQ+ community’s flag.

According to eyewitnesses, during the incident, the young woman explained her actions by claiming she was “wiping her feet” because her shoes had gotten dirty; however, this episode sparked intense discussion on social media and quickly went viral. It later emerged that Yuliana Kaznodiy is a student at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and worked at the Kyiv beauty bar G×Kyiv, co-founded by blogger Sabina Musina.

The establishment initially responded to the situation with restraint, stating that they were investigating the incident and did not condone such behavior; however, they later made the final decision to terminate their employment relationship with the employee. “From the very beginning, G was built on a simple idea: everyone has the right to be themselves… We absolutely do not condone what was said and done. We were outraged by this, so we are no longer working with her,” reads a statement from the salon’s representatives.

The company also noted that such situations are unacceptable to their team, which upholds the principles of equality and tolerance. Yuliana Kaznodiy herself apologized for the incident in a social media post, while noting that her personal views on a number of social issues differ from those of the LGBTQ+ community, and emphasized that she had no intention of offending anyone.

The post was later deleted from her page, and the situation continues to be actively discussed online.
