The floating restaurant near Natalka Park was boarded
The municipal enterprise "Pleso" reported that the waters of Obolon Bay have been completely cleared of illegal vessels. The most famous structure, which had occupied the water space near the park on Pryrichna Street for years, was the “floating house”—the “Desant” restaurant complex. As it turned out, the structure consisted of seven non-self-propelled vessels and lacked any permits for its placement.

The operation to move the structures took several weeks due to a number of technical difficulties. Specialists had to wait for the ice to melt, account for water level fluctuations caused by the hydroelectric power plant’s operations, and partially dismantle certain sections, as the vessels’ dimensions prevented them from passing under the new pedestrian bridge to Obolonskyi Island. Work was expedited due to the threat of spring flooding approaching from the north.
In total, 15 illegal structures were removed from the water area and transported to secure storage sites. The cleanup of the bay became part of a major renovation of the coastal zone: a major overhaul of the southwestern part of the park on Pryrichna Street is currently underway. Thanks to the removal of illegal structures, Natalka Bay has gained visual openness, and residents of the area have gained free access to the renovated public space.
Meanwhile, in the largest lake in Pushcha-Vodytsia—Gorashchytsia—no ecological disaster or signs of intentional water poisoning have been recorded. Experts determined that the mass death of silver carp, which residents had been noticing on the shores since March 21, occurred back in the winter. The cause was a lack of oxygen beneath a thick layer of ice.
Charges have been filed against the former acting general director and the former deputy head of the design and construction preparation department of the Kyiv municipal enterprise “Pleso” for the development of the waterfront at a cost of 130 million hryvnias in budget funds, a project that was supposed to be carried out by the developer.
