A fire near Kyiv posed a threat of smoke drifting into the capital
The Kyiv City State Administration has warned Kyiv residents about a possible deterioration in air quality and the presence of smoke due to a fire in the Bucha District of Kyiv Oblast. Residents are advised to close their windows, limit time spent outdoors, and, if possible, avoid using air conditioners that draw in outside air.
The Kyiv City State Administration noted that a fire is raging in the Bucha district. Due to wind patterns, smoke and combustion products may spread toward the capital.
If smoke appears or a noticeable smell of burning is detected, residents are advised to follow basic safety rules:
close windows at home and in offices;
limit time spent outdoors;
turn on an air purifier if possible;
drink plenty of water.
