Explosions were heard in Kyiv during an air raid alert after an enemy drone entered the capital’s airspace and approached the city, prompting the air defense forces to respond. Residents were warned about the drone’s movement several minutes before the explosions, and the situation developed very quickly. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram and by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, at approximately 4:57 p.m., an enemy UAV was detected moving toward Brovary; by 5:03 p.m., its presence over Kyiv was reported, and it was at that moment that explosions began to be heard in the city and air defense systems were activated.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the activity of defense units in the sky over the capital, emphasizing that air defense forces were engaging a target that posed a threat to the city.
As of 5:09 p.m., the explosions were no longer audible, but the air raid alert and vigilance in the city remained, as the situation with enemy drones can change very quickly, and residents were urged to remain in shelters until the official all-clear.
