In Obukhiv, a man stole from a memorial to fallen soldiers

In the town of Obukhiv in the Kyiv region, law enforcement officials identified the man who stole flowers from the Alley of Heroes.

The incident came to light after a video appeared on social media showing the theft near the portrait of a fallen defender.

Police officers, together with representatives of the city guard, analyzed surveillance camera footage and identified the offender. He turned out to be a 46-year-old local resident.

An administrative report was filed against the man for petty theft. The case materials were forwarded to the court.

He faces a fine, community service, or administrative detention.

The Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against four members of an organized group. According to the investigation, they sold nonexistent vehicles to the army under the guise of volunteer aid and defrauded 11 military personnel. Another participant has been placed on the wanted list.
