Video: In Kyiv, a teenager stabbed a patrol officer with a knife during an arrest
In Kyiv’s Podilsky District, patrol officers detained a 17-year-old youth who had threatened his family with a knife and, during the arrest, stabbed one of the officers. The injured officer was hospitalized, and the assailant was taken into custody.
A report of domestic violence was received via the 112 emergency hotline.
The caller reported that the teenager was acting aggressively and threatening his relatives with a knife.
Patrol officers promptly arrived at the specified address. Since the teenager was armed with a knife, the officers readied their service firearms in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police.”
According to police, the boy had locked himself in one of the rooms, and the patrol officers attempted to establish contact with him and persuade him to come out voluntarily.
However, the young man suddenly ran out of the room and attacked one of the officers with a knife, inflicting stab wounds on him.
Law enforcement officers quickly detained the attacker using handcuffs and then called an investigative team to the scene.

The injured patrol officer was examined by medical personnel and hospitalized to receive the necessary treatment.
The 17-year-old boy was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the attack under Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional infliction of bodily harm on a law enforcement officer.
The knife used to injure the police officer was seized and sent for forensic analysis.
