Atvara from TikTok takes the stage at Eurovision

Atvara will represent Latvia in the second Eurovision semi-final today. The singer rose to fame on TikTok, but in just a few years has grown into a full-fledged star of the Latvian music scene, according to the official Eurovision website.

Her music consists of emotional pop songs and ballads about inner strength, experiences, and personal growth. Fans describe Atvara as an artist who “sings as if she is living every word.” The singer’s real breakthrough came after the release of her debut single, “Pie Manis Tveries.” The song quickly went viral on TikTok and was later featured in the popular Latvian TV series Nelūgtie Viesi.

It was after this that people started talking about Atvara not only on social media but also in the music industry. “I didn’t even expect everything to change so quickly,” the artist recalled in an interview.

Following her success, the singer began actively recording new music and performing live. She collaborated with one of Latvia’s most famous artists, Intars Busulis, on the song “Vai Drīkst Kāpt Dziļāk.”

Later, Atvara released her debut album and cemented her popularity with the track “Dzīve Mūs Mētā,” which resonated well with listeners in Latvia. In the summer of 2025, the artist held a series of solo concerts, and tickets sold out quickly. Following these performances, music critics began calling her one of the country’s strongest young artists. In addition to music, Atvara has also made a name for herself on television. She became a co-host of the Latvian music awards show GAMMA and received positive reviews for her on-screen work.

There were no major scandals surrounding the singer, but after her sudden rise to fame on TikTok, some music critics were skeptical of her. Some considered her “just another internet star for a few months.”

However, Atvara quickly proved that she could draw large crowds to concerts and hold the audience’s attention not only with short videos but also with live performances. Her highly emotional songs were also actively discussed on social media. Some listeners call them “too sad,” but it is precisely this sincerity that has become her defining feature. “I don’t want to write perfect songs. I want to write honest songs,” the artist said.

Atvara’s fans also often note her stage style—minimalist, yet very atmospheric. She rarely relies on a large-scale show, instead focusing on her voice and emotions. Ahead of Eurovision, the singer stated that she wants her performance to be “live and authentic,” without unnecessary glitz.

Today, Atvara will perform ninth in the second Eurovision semifinal. A total of 15 contestants will take the stage to compete for a spot in the contest’s grand final.
