Britney Spears voluntarily checked into rehab following an incident with the police

American singer Britney Spears has voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation center.

Billboard reported this, citing the artist’s official representatives, who confirmed her hospitalization but did not disclose the exact reasons.

According to TMZ, the decision is related to her battle with alcohol and drug addiction, and the program is scheduled to last at least 30 days. The hospitalization occurred several weeks after the singer was arrested in California in early March on suspicion of driving under the influence. At the time, Spears’ representatives stated that there was no excuse for the incident and that the star planned to take serious steps to change her life. In 2023, the singer released her memoir, *The Woman in Me*, in which she described her experience of being under her father’s guardianship for many years and the trauma she endured. In late 2025, Spears sold the rights to her music catalog to Primary Wave for $200 million. Despite her status as one of the most successful artists of our time, Britney has avoided returning to the stage and releasing new music in recent years. The singer’s family and close circle have fully supported her current decision to seek professional help. It is currently unknown whether she will remain at the facility for the full course of treatment or complete it sooner, as has happened in the past.
