Katseye debut on Saturday Night Live with two songs — Rolling Stone

Girl group Katseye made their debut on Saturday Night Live, performing the songs Animal and Hootie Frutti from their new EP Wild. Rolling Stone reports.

Performance by four members

Four of Katseye’s six members appeared on stage. Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza are on a hiatus from the group’s activities. Explaining her break, Laforteza cited her mental health, while Bannerman made a similar statement.

The EP Wild was released in August. It also included Pinky Up, Bel Air, and That Way. The Los Angeles-based group was formed two years ago following the competition show Dream Academy. Katseye debuted at the Coachella festival in April and appeared at the American Music Awards in May.

Wildworld tour

Earlier this month, Katseye began the 31-show Wildworld tour in Europe. In a few weeks, the group plans to start a run of shows on the U.S. East Coast in Miami, then head to Canada before moving west. They plan to conclude the tour in Mexico City at the end of November.

Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland previously told Rolling Stone that, due to their rapid rise, Katseye’s members may be under significant pressure. She advised them to listen to themselves, support one another, and find time to rest while on tour.
