In Chernihiv, a woman took in two wild pigeons that she had rescued
Alla Rudykh, a resident of Chernihiv, rescued two wild rock pigeons, which now live in her home. The birds cannot survive on their own in the wild, so she has set up separate rooms for them and is caring for them.
She found one of the pigeons, Gosha, on the street after he had gone without food for two days and fallen ill. Someone brought the bird to her for help, and she began nursing him back to health.
Another pigeon, Tosha, joined the family even before hatching. Alla’s son brought home an egg from which a chick was already beginning to hatch. At the time of its birth, it weighed only 13 grams.
Tosha recently had pneumonia. He was saved thanks to medication, but after his illness, the bird is not yet able to survive on its own in the wild.
“They’re living together for now. Tosha is a little wary of him, of course. Perhaps, since he’s healthy, we’ll move him to special flight enclosures after he molts. And then, once he’s adjusted, we’ll release him into the wild,” the owner explained.
Currently, both pigeons live in the woman’s home and have already grown accustomed to people. They have separate rooms, eat special feed, and can even take food from her hands. The pigeons love fresh plants the most.
According to Alla Rudykh, the birds are fed a special mixture purchased from pet stores. They also regularly receive vitamins and a special grit necessary for digesting their food. Caring for the pigeons requires a significant amount of time and resources from the woman.

In Kyiv, patrol officers helped an injured stork that was lying on the side of the road and couldn’t fly due to an injury. The bird was carefully evacuated and handed over to specialists for treatment and rehabilitation.
Soldiers from the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade rescued a stork that had become entangled in an anti-drone net above the road and, due to exhaustion, kept falling after every attempt to take flight.
