Pugachova's art festival was canceled in Russia following an appeal by a public figure
The "Pugachiv Spring" art festival has been canceled following a statement by Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption.
This was reported by Russian media, citing the event’s producer, Andrey Krasnobaev.
The organizers note that the decision to cancel was made due to pressure from civil society activists.
“This year’s festival was indeed canceled due to pressure from civil society activists. Ask Borodin how this happened. We haven’t come up with an alternative to the event yet,” the producer said.
The “Pugachova Spring” festival has been held since 2022 and was dedicated to the work of singer Alla Pugachova. The event was organized by a community of her admirers with the aim of bringing fans together and promoting the artist’s work.
In 2026, the event was planned to take place at the “Gorod” club.
According to the organizers, in March, Borodin appealed to the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office demanding that the festival be banned, citing potential conflicts between the artist’s supporters and opponents.
He also claimed that Pugachova’s name is “too controversial” and could provoke tension among attendees.
Recently, singer Alla Pugacheva put her Moscow apartment up for sale after leaving the country.
On September 16, Russian singer Alla Pugacheva posted a new message on Instagram that sparked a lot of discussion. Prior to this, the singer gave an interview to journalist Katerina Gordeeva, which drew a wave of criticism.
The iconic singer Alla Pugacheva once considered Putin her idol and voted for him in the elections. Now, after fleeing Russia, she is calling on the dictator to stop.
