Singaporean rapper Sheikh Haikel reveals stage IV colon cancer
Singaporean rapper and entrepreneur Sheikh Haikel has revealed that he has stage IV colon cancer. He told Channel NewsAsia that he was diagnosed more than a year ago. According to Haikel, the cancer has spread aggressively to his liver.
Diagnosis kept within the family
The 50-year-old artist said that his family had not disclosed information about his illness in order not to cause concern among others. He described the past year as difficult and said that he has both good and hard days.
Haikel said that he intends to remain strong, continue living and working. He also said that he believes in God’s plan.

The restaurant remains open
Sheikh Haikel and his wife, actress Anna Belle Francis, co-own the chicken rice restaurant Hai Ge Ji. The couple also disclosed the diagnosis on Instagram, using the hashtags #sheikhhaikelstage4 and #FINALAPPLAUSE.
The couple recently moved the establishment from North Bridge Road to Bussorah Street. They said they remain happy to welcome customers and friends to the new restaurant and intend to keep the business running.
