Basketball player Artem Kovalyov will continue his career in Azerbaijan
Artem Kovalyov, a forward for the Ukrainian national basketball team, will spend the upcoming season with the Azerbaijani club “Ordu.” Last season, he played in Germany and Taiwan.
Kovalyov started the season with the German team Bayreuth. He played 11 games for the team, averaging 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
In December, he lost his spot on the German team and subsequently continued his career in Taiwan.
There, Artem Kovalyov played for “Yankee Art” and appeared in 13 games. His average stats were 14.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
Kovalyov will join his new club following a season in which “Ordu” won its group in the first stage of the Azerbaijani championship.
The team won 18 of 20 games but was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
In the quarterfinals, “Ordu” lost to Ganja with a score of 1–2.
As a member of the Ukrainian national team, Artem Kovalyov played three games in the qualifiers for the 2027 World Championship.
Next season, the basketball player will continue his career in Azerbaijan, where he will play for "Ordu."
