Elina Svitolina has advanced to the round of 16 at Roland Garros
Ukraine's top female tennis player, Elina Svitolina, has successfully advanced past the third round of the prestigious Grand Slam clay-court tournament in Paris.

Ukraine’s top-ranked player confidently defeated Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch. This victory allowed the Ukrainian to continue her run on the French courts and once again confirm her high professional standing.
Immediately after the victory, the athlete shared her emotions about the success and assessed her opponent’s performance.
The Ukrainian leader demonstrated high concentration on the court and did not allow her opponent to dictate the pace. Svitolina noted the German tennis player’s specific tactics, which required maximum effort on every point.
“I’m very happy with how I played today. Tamara has a very complex and awkward playing style, so I had to stay as focused as possible from the very beginning until the last point. I tried to find my best shots and execute them confidently. So yes, I’m just happy to play another match here and am truly enjoying this tournament,” Elina said, unable to hide her delight.
The decorated Ukrainian also spoke about her special connection to the Paris courts, which hold a unique place in her career. For Svitolina, this tournament has deep symbolic meaning, dating back to her childhood.
“I’m very happy to be here in Paris; I’m truly enjoying the game and the competition itself. In a way, this is almost my home Grand Slam tournament. When I was growing up in Ukraine, this was the only tournament we could watch on TV,” the tennis player noted.
