Former Nigeria defender Ben Iroha runs an auto business in Dallas
Former Nigeria national team defender Ben Iroha settled in Dallas, Texas, United States, after ending his football career, where he is involved in the automobile business and auto parts. According to the former player, he decided on his plans to live in the city before he stopped playing.
As Premium Times Nigeria reports, Iroha first visited Dallas during the 1994 World Cup. He started for Nigeria at left-back in the match against Bulgaria, which the Nigerian team won 3-0.
Plans during his career
The footballer said that during that trip, he noticed the city’s large Nigerian community and its support for the national team at the match. He later bought a house before the end of his career and then moved to Dallas with his family.

Iroha noted that he had planned in advance to work in the automotive sector. He now runs a business involving cars and spare parts, according to his own words, and is satisfied with the results of his work.

The former player urged modern footballers to set aside money and invest it in advance, including in real estate and business. He noted that income from professional football does not last forever, and uncontrolled spending after the end of a career can lead to financial problems.
Iroha began his professional career in Nigeria and later played in the Netherlands, the United States, Spain and England. He was part of the Nigeria national team at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups and was also a member of the team that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations. In 1996, he played for San Jose Clash in the first match in Major League Soccer history against D.C. United.
