In May 2025, the forward suffered an injury after colliding with the goalpost. He underwent abdominal surgery, during which he was placed in an induced coma. He returned to play in July, but in November of last season, he suffered a knee injury and missed another month.
Avoni said he is looking forward to working with his new teammates, noting Coventry’s performance last season after the team’s promotion from the Championship. On Friday, the club will play its first Premier League match in 25 years, an away game against Arsenal.
