Luke Humphries defeated Gerwyn Price 6:4 in the World Grand Prix darts final in Leicester to claim his first major PDC title in 16 months. The 31-year-old world number two received £150,000 in prize money.

Comeback in the final

In the decisive match, Humphries was trailing Price 0:3 but won four sets in a row to seize the initiative. Price managed to level the score, but Humphries made a break in the deciding leg of the fifth set, after which he won three legs in a row and became champion.

As BBC Sport reports, this is Humphries' second World Grand Prix title after his 2023 victory, which marked the beginning of his path to the top of the world rankings.

Ranking positions

The victory allowed Humphries to retain second place in the world rankings, ahead of Dutchman Gian van Veen. Before this, Humphries had not won ranking titles since his Masters triumph in February 2025, while his previous major success was winning the Premier League in May 2025.

For Price, the defeat extended his four-year title drought at major PDC tournaments. He lost his fifth consecutive major tournament final, including his third this year.
