Malawi beat Nigeria 82:22 in netball qualifying — Premium Times Nigeria
Malawi’s national team defeated Nigeria 82:22 in a Group 2 match of the African qualifiers for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Nairobi, Kenya. With this victory, Malawi maintained a perfect start to qualifying and secured a place at the world championship in Sydney, Premium Times Nigeria reports.

Malawi took the lead from the start and finished the first quarter at 21:6. By halftime, the team’s advantage had increased to 40:11.
In the third quarter, Malawi scored 23 goals, while Nigeria scored three, making the score 63:14. In the final quarter, the Malawian team added another 19 goals and won the match by 60 points.

Earlier, Nigeria also lost to Kenya 40:61 and to Uganda 30:68.
World Cup qualifying
The African qualifying tournament is taking place in Kenya from September 19 to 26 with the participation of 10 national teams. According to World Netball, South Africa and Uganda have already qualified for the 2027 World Cup in Sydney based on the world rankings, while the African tournament determines additional participants.
Nigeria was due to play its next match against Zambia on September 22. The Uganda–Malawi match was scheduled for September 23.
