Ukraine's top golfer has changed his citizenship

Lev Greenberg, a young Ukrainian talent on the world golf scene, has obtained French citizenship and will now represent one of Europe’s strongest national teams.

The formal naturalization ceremony for the 18-year-old athlete took place on April 2, 2026, at the headquarters of the French Golf Federation (FFGolf).

Greenberg’s journey in professional sports began at the age of five at the Ukrainian golf club “Kozin,” where he secured his first victory just one year later.

His rapid rise to professional stardom was cemented at age 14, when Lev became one of the youngest record-holders on the prestigious DP World Tour.

The process of obtaining a new passport was lengthy and administratively complex, but the leadership of the French federation expressed sincere pride in this transfer.

FFGolf President Pascal Griso called this day a true victory for the entire national golf community, noting the player’s incredible resilience.

During the official ceremony, Antoine Delon, captain of the French men’s national team, presented the athlete with the team’s official kit.

Lev Greenberg received a dark blue jacket embroidered with the Gallic rooster, symbolizing his new status as a member of the national team.

The newly minted Frenchman addressed the audience in flawless French, emphasizing his ambitious goals on the international stage.

The athlete plans to win tournaments on the professional tour and in the Major series, and his greatest dream remains an Olympic gold medal.

As early as next week, the golfer will head to the Canary Islands for an intensive training camp.

The training process will be led by star coach Victor Dubuisson, who will prepare Lev for the crucial events of the 2026 season.
