Ukrainian athlete Yuriy Orlov was killed in a Russian shelling attack. Yuriy made a significant mark on Ukrainian floorball and was well known in the sports community. The circumstances of the tragedy are still being investigated.
“The Ukrainian Floorball Federation expresses its sincere condolences to the family, loved ones, friends, and the entire floorball community regarding the tragic death of Yuriy Orlov—a player for the KFK club (1996–2026). We received the news of Yuriy’s death as a result of shelling by Russian troops with deep sorrow,” the post reads.
The Federation noted that Yuriy was a man who lived and breathed floorball, devoted all his energy to the team’s development, and left a significant mark on Ukrainian floorball.
“His dedication, professionalism, and humanity will forever remain in the memory of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. The bright memory of Yuriy will forever remain in the hearts of the Ukrainian floorball community,” noted the Ukrainian Floorball Federation.
