Midfielder Hwang In-beom scores his first goal in Portugal — Korea Herald

South Korean midfielder Hwang In-beom scored his first goal in the Portuguese championship and helped Porto defeat Benfica 3-1 in a seventh-round Primeira Liga match in Porto. The footballer scored on his 30th birthday, Korea Herald reports.

Goal after coming on as a substitute

Hwang started the match on the bench and entered the pitch in the 38th minute, replacing Gabri Veiga. By then, Porto were already leading, with Veiga scoring in the 31st minute. Four minutes later, Benfica defender Clément Lenglet received a second yellow card, leaving his team a man down.

After the break, Benfica equalised in the 51st minute, but Victor Froholdt put the hosts back in front three minutes later. In the 60th minute, André Silva broke into the penalty area from the right and passed the ball back, after which Hwang In-beom sent it into the net with a one-touch finish with his right foot.

Porto's seventh victory

It was Hwang's first goal since joining Porto in July. In his league debut against Rio Ave on August 17, he provided an assist.

The victory was Porto's seventh in a row since the start of the season. The team have 21 points and retained first place in the standings. Benfica, who suffered their first defeat of the season, remained second with 16 points — five wins, a draw and a defeat.
