Ronaldo called the federation president over a conflict with Portugal's coach
Cristiano Ronaldo has found himself at the center of a conflict with Portugal’s new head coach, Jorge Jesus. According to reports, the forward reached out to the president of the national soccer federation to address the situation with the coach.
In the first match against Wales, the striker played for 67 minutes, but against Norway, he sat on the bench. This decision greatly upset Cristiano.
He left the field dissatisfied. After the match, reports began to surface in the media about tension between Ronaldo and Jesus. Apparently, the coach had promised the Al-Nassr star that he would play him for at least 30 minutes.
As a result, the president of the Portuguese Football Federation had to intervene. Pedro Proença arrived in Copenhagen on September 30, even though his team was scheduled to play Denmark there on October 1.
The official is scheduled to meet with Cristiano and the team’s coach to discuss the situation and reconcile the parties. It is noted that Ronaldo skipped the post-match training session and worked out in the gym instead.
