Transfermarkt has named the world's most expensive players
The authoritative analytics platform Transfermarkt has published an updated list of the world’s most valuable soccer players, noting new records in the transfer market.
The top spot in the overall rankings is currently shared by Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal and Norwegian striker Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
The market value of each of these outstanding players has reached an impressive €200 million.
The top five most expensive players in the world also include star players from Europe’s top leagues with hefty price tags. French forward Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid confidently holds third place.
Following him with identical valuations are promising Barcelona midfielder Pedri and talented Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise.
When analyzing club representation in the elite ranking, French club PSG and Spanish club Real Madrid stand out with the highest number of players in the top ten—three players each.
All players in the top 10 have a market value of at least 140 million euros, which indicates significant financial inflation in modern sports.
