In Pakistan, chief selector Aaqib Javed has denied reports of his possible resignation or dismissal from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). In correspondence with the publication, he called these reports false.

Among the possible decisions was Javed’s dismissal from the position of chief selector.

Positions and previous decisions
Javed, who was part of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup-winning team, has been one of the key figures in the PCB’s work over the past two years. He is a member of the national selection committee and director of high performance.
Critics linked him to frequent changes in the coaching staff and captains, as well as personnel decisions during Pakistan’s recent Test tour of England. After the defeat in the second Test at Lord’s, the PCB sent seven players home and replaced head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul.
Pakistan subsequently lost the series 0–3 and dropped to the bottom of the World Test Championship standings. Javed’s colleague on the selection committee, Misbah-ul-Haq, resigned after that, while Javed had previously said that he did not plan to leave his post.
