The first stage of the ISU Junior Grand Prix in figure skating has begun in Xi'an
The first leg of the 2026/27 ISU Junior Grand Prix figure skating series officially opened Thursday in Xi'an, China. More than 100 young figure skaters from over 30 countries and regions are participating in the competition, according to ECNS.
China has entered 16 athletes in men’s and women’s singles, pairs, and ice dancing. After the short program in ice dancing, neutral athletes Maria Fefelova and Artem Valov are in the lead with a score of 63.10 points.

Chinese figure skaters Li Zhixuan and He Quanshuo placed eighth in the ice dance short program. In the women’s singles, Sofia Dzepka leads after the short program with a score of 72.74 points. China’s Liu Yuxuan is in third place.
On Friday, the men’s singles short program, the ice dance short program, and the women’s singles free skate will take place. Gold medals will be awarded in women’s singles and ice dance.
