Kenyan runners set half marathon records in Tallinn
In Tallinn, Estonia, Kenyan runners won the men’s and women’s half marathon races as part of the Tallinn Marathon and set distance records. As ERR News reports, more than 5,000 people took part in the 21.1-kilometer race. The start took place on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on Falgi Street near the foot of the Pikk Hermann tower.
Record over the 21.1-kilometer distance
The winner of the men’s race was Kenyan Vincent Kiptoo, who covered the distance in 59 minutes and 48 seconds. This is a course record and the first time in Estonia that the half marathon distance has been completed in under an hour.
Johanna Erot took second place with a result of 1:00:51. Enos Kipruto Saat finished third in 1:01:22, while Edwin Kiprop Kiptoo was fourth in 1:01:49. The fastest Estonian was Leonid Latsepov, who placed fifth with a time of 1:04:20.

Women’s standings
Kenyan Regina Wambui Ndungu won the women’s race. She finished seventh overall and set the women’s Tallinn Half Marathon record of 1:07:35.
Kenyan Winsam Jerono took second place with a result of 1:10:29. Morocco’s Soukaina Atanane was third, covering the distance in 1:11:24. Switzerland’s Ronja Hofstetter took fourth place in 1:14:36, while Norway’s Lene Nylund was fifth in 1:22:51. The fastest Estonian was Pille Hinn, who finished sixth with a result of 1:23:02.
Estonia’s largest mass sporting event continues with the 10-kilometer Tallinn Autumn Run at 2:00 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. with the marathon distance.
