A Russian boxer was beaten up in Turkey after a match

After the boxing match ended, a dispute broke out between representatives of the two sides, which quickly escalated into a mass brawl. The UBO world title fight, held in Trabzon, Turkey, ended in a major scandal.

This was reported by the publication Karar.

Footage of the mass brawl that broke out after the fight between Russian Sergey Gorokhov and local boxer Emirhan Kalkan has appeared online.

Tensions escalated as early as the third round. It was reported that members of the Russian team engaged in "disrespectful behavior" toward their opponent, which provoked an extremely negative reaction from the audience in the arena. The situation finally spiraled out of control after the final bell.

Gorokhov won by knockout and began celebrating wildly. When he approached his opponent to "pay his respects," one of Kalkhan’s team members shoved him.

After that, complete chaos ensued. Fans stormed the ring and began attacking the Russian team. They were pelted with plastic chairs and beaten with fists and feet.

Reportedly, the cause of this aggression was a combination of provocations by the Russians and an emotional reaction from Turkish fans.

Private security and special forces had to intervene to calm the enraged crowd. Currently, the official announcement of the fight’s results has been postponed pending an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
