OpenAI unveils office features for ChatGPT in the US — TechCrunch

OpenAI unveiled new ChatGPT features for office work at the Dev Day conference in San Francisco, US: a shared workspace, a document tool and collaborative slides. TechCrunch reports.

Shared space in ChatGPT

One of the new features is Space, a shared workspace inside ChatGPT. There, colleagues can collaborate with the chatbot as well as with Dots, OpenAI's new AI agent personas that can perform tasks on a user's behalf.

According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Space brings pages and files together, like on a cloud drive. Users can give a page specific instructions — for example, to check a team channel and update the page with the information found.

Documents and slides

The company also announced Pages, a text-work tool that OpenAI describes as a new type of document for collaboration between people and agents. In Pages, users can write, conduct research, create charts and images, and visualize information.

Another innovation is collaborative slides. They can be created by describing the desired presentation in ChatGPT. After creation, several employees and AI agents can edit the slides together and leave comments. TechCrunch notes that the new tools bring OpenAI closer to the office software segment, where Microsoft operates.
