Plaud unveils Plaud One AI earbuds for recording conversations
Plaud has unveiled the Plaud One Explorer Edition earbuds with functions for recording, transcribing, and creating concise summaries of conversations using artificial intelligence. The device is available for pre-order in selected markets for $249.99, with shipments expected to begin in late September, according to The Verge.
Earbuds and recording case
Plaud One can be worn as regular earbuds, while the charging case can be used as a standalone recording device. It has a built-in 4G module that allows conversations to be uploaded and processed without a constant connection to a smartphone or Wi-Fi.
Each earbud is equipped with 16 MB of local storage, giving the device 32 MB in total, as well as three microphones. According to Plaud, the microphones can record sound at a distance of up to two meters. The stated recording and battery life of the earbuds is up to six hours. They also feature noise cancellation and touch controls on the stem, activated by pressing.

Case specifications and AI functions
The charging case has four microphones with a recording range of up to five meters, a built-in speaker, and 512 MB of storage. The combined stated battery life of the earbuds and case reaches 36 hours. The case can be charged via USB-C.
For transcribing and summarizing conversations, Plaud uses the Plaud Intelligence system. The company says it is designed to understand and carry out human intentions. The AI button on the case activates the Plaud Agent function, which integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack. According to the developer's concept, this should eliminate the need for users to switch between different services.
