Qualcomm and Tarjama to explore deployment of Arabic-language AI solutions — Asharq Al-Awsat
Qualcomm Technologies and Arabic-language and AI solutions provider Tarjama signed a memorandum of understanding at the LEAP 2026 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The companies plan to explore opportunities for deploying enterprise-ready Arabic-language artificial intelligence systems in countries across the region, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
Model optimization
The collaboration is intended to combine Tarjama’s expertise in Arabic-language artificial intelligence with Qualcomm Technologies’ capabilities in optimizing and deploying AI applications. The parties plan to integrate and optimize selected Arabic-language models on Qualcomm Dragonfly AI infrastructure technologies, as well as assess their performance and deployment readiness.
The partners will consider applications in generative and conversational AI, reasoning systems, and agentic artificial intelligence. Tarjama will provide the Arabic.AI platform, models created for the Arabic language, and enterprise applications for Arabic-speaking markets.

Solutions for government and business
The publication notes that demand for localized and sovereign AI solutions is growing, particularly in the government and corporate sectors. Arabic-language models must account for linguistic nuances, dialect diversity, cultural context, and industry terminology. The Arabic.AI platform recently secured strategic investment and established cooperation with HUMAIN.
Qualcomm Technologies will provide expertise in AI acceleration, inference performance, scaling, and model deployment optimization. The companies also plan technical cooperation, benchmarking, and model optimization for the public sector, telecommunications, financial services, healthcare, and education.
Charles Chebli, managing director of Qualcomm Technologies in the UAE and head of AI Cloud for the Middle East and Africa, said the partnership is intended to support the deployment of high-performance, efficient, and scalable Arabic-language AI solutions. Tarjama founder and CEO Nour Al Hassan said the cooperation is intended to help organizations move from experimenting with Arabic-language AI to using it in production environments.
