World model developers keep commercialization plans undisclosed — TechCrunch
Companies developing so-called world models for artificial intelligence have not yet disclosed which products they plan to bring to market. Notable players in the field include Yann LeCun’s AMI Labs and Fei-Fei Li’s World Labs. Both companies have attracted significant attention and funding, but are not rushing to commercialize their developments, TechCrunch reports.
No product plans announced
World models are aimed at automating spatial intelligence. Such technologies could potentially be used in robotics, interactive video, and more advanced autonomous vehicle control systems.
During a discussion at the All In conference, AMI Labs co-founder and the company’s vice president for world models Michael Rabbat did not specify which products the company is working on. In correspondence, he explained that AMI is still at the research and development stage, so it does not publicly announce product plans or timelines for their implementation.

Data suppliers also do not know the details
The secrecy extends to data suppliers as well. Physicl CEO Alex de Vigan said that he knows his company’s data is useful for developments in the world-model field, but does not know exactly what clients are building. According to him, more information about their work would allow Physicl to prepare more useful data.
TechCrunch describes Marble by World Labs as the most developed product in this segment. Demonstrations of the platform include media creation, explorable video game environments, and CGI effects. The platform also demonstrates possible use cases in robotics.
AMI has already explored manufacturing, biomedicine, robotics, and software for physicians as part of the Nabia partnership. The publication notes that the broad range of potential applications and the risk of competitors emerging may encourage developers not to disclose their chosen commercialization path in advance.
