$15,000 for a fake disability to avoid conscription: twin brothers arrested
Law enforcement officials have detained two twin brothers suspected of running a scheme to issue fake disability certificates to men of draft age in exchange for $15,000.
According to the investigation, the suspects arranged for false data to be entered into the electronic healthcare system and the “Reserve+” app, which allowed clients to obtain military registration documents, avoid mobilization, and illegally travel abroad.
The investigation also established that during their communications, the suspects repeatedly expressed pro-Russian views and supported Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. Additionally, according to law enforcement, one of the organizers obtained a second-degree disability designation for himself to avoid mobilization.
During 14 searches in the Kyiv and Mykolaiv regions, law enforcement officials seized nearly 8.3 million hryvnias in cash, mobile phones, computer equipment, flash drives, medical records, and draft notes.
