Attorney Kryvoruchko will continue to represent the defendant accused of murdering Faryon
Kyiv-based attorney Larisa Kryvoruchko, who is defending Vyacheslav Zinchenko—the man accused of murdering renowned linguist Iryna Farion—has officially had her license to practice law reinstated.
This became possible after the court blocked and suspended the decision of the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar Association of Vinnytsia Oblast.
The human rights lawyer has now fully resumed her professional duties.
She confirmed that she continues to work actively and will continue to represent Vyacheslav Zinchenko in court during upcoming hearings.
“My legal practice was unlawfully suspended. I filed a lawsuit and challenged this unlawful decision in court. I filed a motion for a preliminary injunction, and the court granted it. The court’s ruling has been issued and sent to the court,” explained Larysa Kryvoruchko.
The scandal stemmed from a decision by the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar Association of Vinnytsia Oblast dated June 5, 2026.
At that time, the commission decided to suspend Kryvoruchko’s attorney’s license for a period of one year—until June 5, 2027.
The reason cited for this action was an alleged violation of professional ethics during another trial at the Uzhhorod City Court in 2025.
Due to the sudden suspension of the defense attorney’s license, the court in Lviv found itself in a difficult situation while hearing a high-profile case.
On June 15, the court was forced to appoint a pro bono public defender for Vyacheslav Zinchenko. This step was necessary because the defendant himself was unaware at the time of the reasons for his private defense attorney’s removal.
