A high-pressure system will bring sunshine and heat: What will the weather be like in Ukraine on July 17?
On Friday, July 17, sunny and dry weather is expected in most regions of Ukraine thanks to the Laurent high-pressure system. Only in the southeast are brief thunderstorms possible in some areas due to the influence of a cold front.
Daytime temperatures will range from +25 to +29°C; in Zakarpattia and the southern regions, temperatures will reach +27 to +32°C. It will be coolest in the northeast of the country, where temperatures are expected to range from +22 to +24°C.
In Kyiv, forecasters predict dry and sunny weather with a comfortable temperature of around +25°C.
Over the weekend, July 18–19, warm and mostly sunny weather will continue across Ukraine. However, on Sunday, thunderstorms are possible in the western regions, with heavy downpours and squalls in some areas.

As a reminder, Belgium has recorded a sharp rise in mortality amid a severe heat wave. According to the Sciensano Institute of Public Health, the excess mortality rate reached 47%—the highest figure since records began in 2000.
Earlier, average nuclear power generation in France fell below 33 GW, the lowest level in the past nine months, due to the need to limit output at nuclear power plants. The reduction was caused by a critical rise in water temperatures in the rivers used to cool the reactors.
